Good Vibrations! Don't you just LOVE that song by the Beach Boys! We need to keep the good vibrations from Valentine's Day, don't you think? Thanks to Dorothy from the blog the frog and penguinn who thinks very much the same way that I do! We both keep our cards up for as long as possible!
Did you know that Glen Campbell played on the Good Vibrations song with the Beach Boys? And did you know that one of the members of the Glenn Miller Band played on it too? I only found that out this week, when this gentleman passed away at the age of 95. His name was Paul Tanner.
At the end of a busy week, will there be time to walk over a mountain? Sure, let's take the time!
The clouds were amazing and the sunset that followed was truly spectacular.
This is me holding our coffee cups! NOT an alien creature! HA!
In that last photo, I loved how the cloud looked as if it was forming a little heart at the bottom, do you see it? For anyone celebrating their Valentine's Day for this weekend, enjoy! And go and get yourself some of that 50% off chocolate, you know you want to! xx
Oh! And of course, Richard took all of these photos except for this last one...
Richard takes the best photos of anyone I know. I think they are fantastic! (Of course, this is a good one, since Richard is in it!)
Richard got me the Glen Campbell CD "Ghost On The Canvas" and I LOVE it! I must tell you all about it but it will have to wait until another post! In the meantime, take care and have a great weekend.
(Why has this print gotten smaller as I am typing, what in the world, am I doing?)
We love our hikes on Arabia Mountain, close by but it feels like a world away. YAY for the Beach Boys! Beautiful melodies sung with great harmonies. xx
Love the Beach Boys! Thanks for the music while I enjoyed the wonderful pics...so beautiful! I hope you get them framed! I laughed when you mentioned the print getting smaller..all I could think of was the line from the "Wizard of Oz".."Help me! I'm shrinking!....." Hope your weekend doesn't shrink in fun..enjoy the Valentine glow!
Gotta keep those loving good vibrations!! Oh, and I LOVE the Wizard of Oz too. I hope the new movie with James Franco will be good, I really like that young actor, he reminds me of my son! xx
The very same wishes to you too, Audrey! I know people make fun of the day but doggone it, February is just so gray and blah, I like seeing some bright red hearts in the middle of it!!
Thanks, and I will tell Richard you said so! Hey, Valentine's Day gives us an excuse to eat our chocolate, don't you think? I have an Aunt who is only 8 years older than I am and she loved the Beach Boys but did not care as much for the British Invasion bands, but I loved them as much as the Beach Boys. My dual nature started early!
Kay- Those photos are stunning. I just love them-especially the cloud pictures. Isn't it sad that Glen Campbell is struggling with dementia? He was certainly an icon in my youth- xo Diana
Diana, Glen Campbell is such a musical talent. On this new CD that Richard got for me, I am amazed at his singing voice, how strong and perfectly he sings! I know he is struggling right now, but he has wonderful support from his wife and kids. I loved the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour too!xx
Thanks so much, I will tell Richard you like these photos! Like you, I hadn't thought of Glen Campbell either, I didn't know about this CD "Ghost On The Canvas", it came out in 2011. If you look him up on Youtube, you can see him perform "Wichita Lineman" from a recent concert and it sounds very contemporary, like something that could be on the radio right now! (I wish!)
lovely clouds. Lovely song. I believe the Beach Boys' writer was very talented but kind of strange. I like that slight strangeness and otherworldliness in this song....
Thanks, Jenny! Here is a book about The Beach Boys..."The Nearest Faraway Place". It is such a good book about them. Brian Wilson really was and still is a genius. I think his genius set him apart and accounted for this "otherworldliness" that you recognize. Carl Wilson is the one who is singing lead on this song, and I truly loved his voice too. All the brothers were interesting and all so different, I find them fascinating.
Keeping the good vibrations going isn't always easy, but I like the idea and do try. The pictures are just beautiful. Hope you have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
Why, I don't have to tell YOU to keep the good vibrations going, you do that every day!! :-) Peace be with you and I wish the same Sunday to you too. xx
We had Mardi Gras and Valentines in one week, so lots of good vibrations going on around here! Enjoy your weekend, and thank your husband again for so kindly sharing the photos he takes.
Hi Kay! I'm playing catch-up ~ and what pleasure to not miss this lovely post. Richard's photos are spectacular! That 3rd one is my favorite by just a little! I have a thing for clouds and rocks! For the Beach Boys too!
Thanks, Louise! I am so glad you like these photos too! You would love Arabia Mountain as much as we do, you are above the trees and can see the clouds so much better! Such positive energy from The Beach Boys, I always loved them, and I still do! :-)
Kay, I love all your mountain photos...you holding the cups..too cute. I love the beach boys. Hope you are having a good weekend. xoxo,Susie

Thanks, Mimi, I will tell Richard you said so!
Kay, you know you made my day with this post of spectacular sky-pictures, don't you!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so happy that you like these too. We were just amazed at how gorgeous the sky was on this day.
DeleteGood music, good fotos and good people, what more do you want?
ReplyDeleteI can't argue with that logic! :-)
DeleteHi, Kay! Stunning photos!!! Those look like postcards! Even better, I think. Thanks to Richard and you for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Loi
Thanks so much! I think Richard's photos are better than most post-cards that I see, I really do!
DeleteThanks for your comment!
