Arabia Mountain Trail/ Silent Night Video

 
 
Thanks to all who left best wishes to Christopher on my last post.  The arrangements were not ideal (in a department store with people talking, buggies banging around, bad sound system,etc. ) but he did a really good job!  As soon as we can work it it out, I will try to get a video or two on here for you.  In the meantime, it's hard to believe that we had this much color on the trees as of November 18th, which is when we took these photos at the Arabia Mountain Trail and Arabia Lake.  Hope you can see why we enjoy this area so much. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  Okay! Here is Christopher singing "Silent Night".  Remember, not ideal circumstances, but I think you can tell he has a nice singing voice.    The nice lady singing with him is very good and she seemed to enjoy herself.  You can hear Richard saying "That's good!" at the end, and you can see me holding the little baby. (That is my cousin's baby, Esme. Remember the diaper cake I made for a baby shower back in March?  It was for this baby!)

    That WAS good, really good. Way to go, Christopher! Wish we were closer ~ we would've come out to sing along with you!!!

    Beautiful photos of Arabia, of course. Love all those colors!

      Thanks, Audrey! People would walk by and sometimes sing along with you, but mostly they were surprised and pleased to discover a real LIVE person singing and they would give him the thumbs-up!
      Arabia! Those colors! Our November was fantastic, wasn't it?

    Very nice! And that's a hard carol to sing. I can never manage both the high notes AND the low. One or the other -- take your pick.

      Thanks, Debra! C. has always enjoyed the hymns at our Episcopal Church. I see from your blog that you are also a fan of church hymns. They are wonderful, aren't they?

    So enjoyed this Kay. Just imagine the same performance in a different setting - a quiet, darkened church or hall. In this instance, he had only his voice to rely on and he did a wonderful job! Love all the pics as well :)

    Oh, this was lovely, Kay! I am amazed that there were actually so FEW background noises - after your warning, I had expected a lot more going on.
    And such beautiful pictures from Arabia Mountain again! I envy you for that - and Richard for being able to walk short-sleeved in NOVEMBER!!

      Thanks! This video had the least noise, when you hear the next one I have for you, you will see what I mean.
      Oh, I wish I had worn a t-shirt that day, it was very warm, especially in the sun! Our November was like October, very warm and dry.

      We ARE lucky but do you know that you might have seen more of Arabia Mountain than many of the people who live around it? Funny isn't it, people tend to disregard beauty that is so close to them.

    I, too, am surprised at how little noise there was to distract one.

    I love the autumn colours. Indeed I far prefer autumn to spring from that point of view.

      Ah, but just wait...I just HAVE to show you the video where C. is singing and moving like Elvis but there is a lot of noise at times on that one!
      I love trees at all times of the year, but the colors in the autumn just take my breath away.

    More! He does have a lovely voice.
    Has all of that colour gone from the mountain now? I too am amazed at seeing Richard in short sleeves so late in the year, but then the blue sky and the sunshine show how mild it must have been.

      Yes, the color has gone now, but there is still the winter beauty at the mountain with the sky up above us and the pine trees still green.
      Just this past Saturday, we climbed Panola Mountain in short sleeves, it was about 70 degrees! And look out for my post on THAT mountain...Stone Mountain, Arabia Mountain and now...Panola Mountain. I promise that is the last one around here!! :-)

    Loved the video, Kay! Your son did a great job with a song that I find difficult to sing with all its different tones. And in a less that ideal situation!

    Those photos are gorgeous. Do you still have colour on that mountain? I would imagine with your warmer weather, you get to enjoy all that much longer than we do up north. I can certainly see why you love that place so much.

    The autumn colours were beautiful but, oh, that blue blue sky! It's rained non-stop here today so I could have done with one of those. And well done to Christopher! It's not easy singing in places like that with the distraction of shoppers wandering around so he did a great job. Tell him to come over for our Carois by Candlelight service next Sunday - we could use a lovely voice like his. x

    A lovely mellow and strong voice Christopher has, Kay! There it is again....the mother's beam!!
    Now that trail looks like one we here (Sophie, Ron and I) would absolutely love to hike. Beautiful photos.

    I can see why you enjoy the trail. The leaves, the water, the rocks are soothing and peaceful. And I thoroughly enjoyed your son's rendition of one of my favorite Christmas carols!
