Something made me think of this TV ad and I found it here for you. This really makes me laugh. "It's a piece of junk" and the boy's expression is priceless!
This was a very busy day for me today but I still managed to get to Arabia Mountain with Richard just before the sun went down. Too cloudy for a nice sunset but it is always a pleasure to see these lovely yellow daisies.
A painting, I tell you, a painting...that is what this looks like to me. I find this incredibly beautiful. It astounds me that so little attention is paid to this beautiful wildflower.
Hopefully, I will be able to visit all your lovely blogs soon. In the meantime, hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
I like those Ally ads too. The kids are great, but so is the guy portraying the good-looking, smooth-talking con man. He nails it!
ReplyDeleteThey are all clever, but this little blonde boy is my favorite. The swarmy guy could be a politician!
DeleteFine print should come with your mountain, that once you are there you will never want to leave!
ReplyDeleteMimi, you are so right! On Saturday, we were so late getting home, that we had our dinner at 9PM!
DeleteThat photo of the daisies is gorgeous. I can't imagine seeing such beauty on such a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Connie. And you cannot imagine how startling Arabia Mountain is...it rises from the landscape and is so natural and beautiful. You would never guess it is there, even when you drive right by it...it is hidden by pine trees and you cannot even see the top of it from any road around it. Lucky us, that we are some of the few who understands the beauty of it (and my readers!)
DeleteIt is a painters subject that's for certain. I bet the mountain is swarming with artists at this time of year. :-)
ReplyDeleteJohn, You might think so but the opposite is true. I have seen a lot of photographers at Stone Mountain when the leaves change color, but not one artist have I ever seen at Arabia, not many photographers for that matter.
DeleteI agree with you Kay - it is a painting! Your header is bright and cheerful (there's those daisies again!). There is something very endearing about the "everyday" flowers that surround us - while I'm a big fan of roses too, there is much to be said for (and appreciated in) daisies, gerberas, even "soursobs" (which I like to think of as "poor man's daffodils"). Thanks for sharing. Thanks too for visiting my blog and your kind comments. Wishing you a fabulous, sunshiney week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment here! Roses are a bit too fussy in Georgia but I truly love them when I visit England. I just looked up "soursobs" and I think they are pretty too, they look like buttercups in England, only on a bigger scale.
DeletePlease visit me again! And it looks like a rainy Monday is forecast for Atlanta!
Ha ha, I have never seen that commercial but it's pretty funny. I still can't get over how gorgeous those daisies are!!! Glad you had a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteDear Audrey,
DeleteThanks, glad you liked it too! And thanks again for your sweet post on Friday night, which I didn't see until the next day! :-)
The daisies are lovely. Long may they last!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry! And last year, they lasted all through October!
DeleteThe flowers do look like a painting. Nature is really beautiful
ReplyDeleteHello Mo!
DeleteI think this is the first comment I have from you! Welcome! And I am glad that you think this looks like art since hardly anyone takes notice of it.
That does looke lik a painting, Kay. And a beautiful one at that. It would look great right over my couch :)
ReplyDeleteThat commercial is so funny. I love the expression on that kid's face.
Hey Martha!
DeleteAnd guess what?! I took that photograph! YAY!
I knew you would like the commercial, we think the same way! :-) Have a great week!
Gorgeous, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dorothy, and the flowers looked nice too! HA HA!
Deleteooh, I'm follower number 100! Just found your blog, it's lovely, and so are the daisies. x
ReplyDeleteDear Cheryl,
DeleteThanks so much for your visit and I am so happy to have you as a follower! (Number 100! I think I will have a party!) :-0
My husband and I visit Stone Mountain and Arabia Mountain as much as we can, and in September the yellow daisies were fantastic!
I see that you also like to crochet and are from Yorkshire! Are you anywhere near to where Lucy from Attic 24 lives? Your part of England looks beautiful!
It's nice to know that despite your hectic schedule, you are able to capture beautiful scenery and share it with us. And yes, the last photo looks like a painting! I love your artistic side. Have a great week ahead :)
ReplyDeleteDear Farida,
DeleteIt gives me great JOY to share this beauty with people like you who APPRECIATE it!
Thank you so much for your comment. Take care and good luck with your new job. xx
