Had
I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
William Butler Yeats

DeleteIn school once, we had to do a project where we were asked to choose poems and find pictures from old magazines to go with the poems. My friends hated doing this, but I LOVED it!
Now, with this blog, I am feeling that same delight with poetry and photography combinations. FUN!
One of my very favourite poems, thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
DeleteI love poetry. Good poetry, that is! Most of the modern stuff does not appeal to me.
