Love the Moody Blues, have seen them in concert more than any other band. It seems to me that they are very under-rated. Not edgy enough for the world these days, I suppose. John Lodge waved at me once. Is it sad to say that little wave gave me such pleasure and joy? Their music is so joyful and so well written! Just watch this video and tell me you can't see how much fun this is for them. " Keep the faith. Take care. Keep smiling!" So positive! I just love them!
The Moody Blues will be in concert in Atlanta next weekend. While you are in the area, come to Arabia Mountain, John and Justin...the flowers are beautiful just now!
Dear Jane and Lance, I would love to see (and hear) them at the Royal Albert Hall. I have only seen it from the outside. I remember it very well even so. Enjoy your nice weather too!
Dear Jenny, They came out with a wonderful Christmas album in 2003 which is very good. Richard wrote a brief review on it on Amazon (the US website). My husband and son are proper musicians (guitarists) and know much more about music than I do. I only know what I like and it doesn't hurt for me if they are easy on the eyes! (I am shallow that way!)
I also like them quite a bit. Sometimes I find their music kind of haunting. Wouldn't you be thrilled to bump into one of them on one of your walks? Would that count as a 'mountain-top experience'?!
Dear Mac & Janet, Our son (in his early 20's) really likes them too. That was our son's first concert (at age 7) and he has loved them ever since. He and my husband both play the guitar so are naturally drawn to good songwriters and musicians.
I certainly don't know The Moody Blues as well as you, but the song "In Your Wildest Dreams" reminds me of my childhood. GREAT SONG! And I was on the flag corp in the high school band and we did a routine to "Nights in White Satin"....a real classic.
Dear Audrey, I love the song "In Your Wildest Dreams, so good in concert. Nights In White Satin was a number one digital download in England in 2010! They are quite popular with young people over there! Go over there and do your flag routine, I am sure it would be welcomed.
Nice, liked The Moody Blues. I must have clicked on it twice however because it was playing twice in the browser. Opps! At first I was like hmmm interesting double play back they have going on here! hehe
Thanks for your travel advice. The little subtle cultural differences are my favorite travel things too!
Dear Elizabeth, It's double, double, double the fun! Sorry, I watched too many TV commercials as a child! Oh dear, here you are seeking some travel opinions and I tell you to notice people! I'm glad that you understand what I meant though! :-) Have great fun planning your honeymoon. No matter what, it will be special! Richard and I just had a few days in Fontana Dam, North Carolina...but it was beautiful, we even saw the Milky Way!
I really like the Moody Blues, as well. They're music is so relaxing, and like Jane said, haunting. It's the type of music I enjoy listening to while I work in the garden.
Dear Martha, Yay, another fan of the Moody Blues! I have said to Richard, if I had seen them in concert before our son was born, he would be little JJ, shortened from Justin John!
Somehow I missed this posting - I love the Moody Bluies. I played their albums all through college and although I no longer have the vinyl I've got MP3s of them. Must play them now!
Dear John, Oh you love the Moody Blues too! How could you not? If you change some of their words of their songs, they could be hymns. If you get a chance to see them in concert, please do. They are really good but I do miss Ray Thomas on the flute!

Have always enjoyed the Moody Blues, but it's our daughter who is a huge fan and has seen them in concert numerous times.
