The Liebster Blog Award/Groundhog Day!
Wonder of wonders, there are people who like to read my blog! Tracey from breathingenglishair.blogspot.com has sent me the Liebster Blog award! Wow Tracey, thank you! This award is to call attention to those blogs that you truly enjoy and that might not be too familar to others since it is for those blogs with 200 or fewer followers. "Liebster" is German for "dearest" or "beloved". (We will have to hear from one of the bloggers I will list to see if we have the German translated correctly!)
The Rules are as follows:
1) Show your thanks to the blogger who nominated you for the award by linking back to them.
2) List your five choices for the award by linking to them and leave a comment on their blog to let them know.
3) Post the award on your blog.
4) Feel the love and support from your fellow bloggers.
5) Enjoy spreading the love!
Without further ado, here are my choices for THE LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD:.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....................................................................................:
Meike from www.librarianwithsecrets.blogspot.com
Rachel from www.mozartsgirl.blogspot.com
Martha from www.plowingthroughlife.blogspot.com
Jane from www.janesjewels.blogspot.com
Sara from www.saraandherblog.blogspot.com
All of these bloggers are intelligent, witty, sensitive and they all happen to be beautiful too! Check out their blogs and see if you don't agree with me. Thanks again, Tracey, you are a sweetheart to think of me and my blog!
Now, since today is Groundhog day, I am surprised that no one has mentioned anything about one of the funniest movies that I hope everyone has seen...it is, of course, "Groundhog Day". ( If you are reading this from another country, Groundhog Day is for real! If the groundhog sees his shadow, it means there will be six more weeks of winter weather. I think he saw it today!) If you haven't seen the movie, , please do so and get ready to laugh. We might all have the "same old, same old" day but we if we have the right attitude about it, we can make each day a joy...
Hi Kay, Congratulations on your award and thank you for sharing the love with me! I appreciate your kinds words and want you to know that I feel the same about you :) We watched Groundhog Day over the Christmas holidays and really enjoyed it - it's a very sweet movie. Thanks again!!
ReplyDeleteHey Jane!
DeleteThe only thing, I felt shy to talk about each one of these blogs and why they are so good to read. Doggone it, it is so hard for me to sit down in front of this computer and type words sometimes!
Groundhog Day is great, I thought I would see a lot of people mention it, but no one did. It was written by the same actor who was in "Ghostbusters", not Bill Murray and not Dan Ackroyd but the one with glasses, Harold Ramis.
And your award? You deserve it! Hope you get lots more to see your blog!
Kay, come on - you were not surprised at that anyone actually reads your blog, you get so many comments on each of your posts, and the number of your followers is steadily increasing :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, you deserve the "Liebster Blog" award (the translation is correct but make sure the spelling does not keep changing - in your headline, you have put Leibster instead of Liebster, and somewhere in the text as well).
And I am well chuffed for being on your personal list of Liebster Blog!!! Thank you!
Hey, Come on! (Do I say that a lot?)
DeleteDid you know that I am the WORST proofreader in the world? I read very fast and my mind just corrects what I am seeing without noticing anything...RICHARD is the man! He helps me by telling me if I have misspelled a word or left something out. I didn't even notice it in the TITLE!!! I THINK I have corrected it now, but have to wait for someone else to read it to be sure! Thanks!
Ha, you are well chuffed! When I lived in England, I thought that meant someone was angry so I was in a constant state of confusion over what emotions were being conveyed to me!
Meike, I loved the photos of your Dad's party and your Mom is beautiful! Thanks again for mentioning me! :-)
Congratualtions Kay...a worthy recipient.
ReplyDeleteSP
Dear SP,
DeleteThank you so much! I just remembered that I meant to mention that I TOO have a secret...my secret is that I know someone who has won an ACADEMY AWARD!!! Look out for this in one of my future posts!
Cheers!
Well done on the award! I have taken a look at all the blogs, they are really nice.
ReplyDeleteDear Jenny,
DeleteThank you so much. It pleases me to write my blog but it gives me greater pleasure to know real writers such as yourself actually read it! Thank you!
Congratulations, Kay, and thank you for thinking of me! I feel the same way about you :) I need to pass this award on to other bloggers (have needed to do so for awhile), but all the bloggers I want to give it to have already received it! I'm actually considering creating new one to do the job. In any case, I am pleased that you received this award; you certainly deserve it. Love your blog!
ReplyDeletePlowing Through Life (Martha),
DeleteYour blog is great! Some of the the blogs that I look at, I am not sure how many followers that they have, does that mean they have hidden it in some way?
I would like to create my own award too, perhaps a "Butterfly" award...for a blog that is small, but important to the world, if only people would realize it!
Oh, and I don't know if I deserve anything good in life that I get, but I accept all good things gratefully! Thanks again!
Well done, Kay. And yes, despite only having a dozen flms on my 'must see' list, Groundhog Day is a favourite. I watched it over and over again... How appropriate.
ReplyDeleteScriptor,
DeleteSee, we have the same taste in movies...good taste!
So, that means you REALLY need to see the movies that I recommend... like The Princess Bride and Galaxy Quest!
Thank you for visiting my blog (and following)
ReplyDeleteI like you post about pareidolia. The image in the rock kinda looked like a sloth face.
Uncle Skip,
DeleteOh my gosh, are you kidding me? Someone who has Daffy Duck for their photo, you are a man after my heart!
Hey, glad you could see my rocky "sloth" face. You really need to click on Scriptor Senex up there if you want to see a creature that you have never seen before. (Not Scriptor himself! No, it is a photo on the left side of his blog!)
Happy to find you!
Hi Kay, I'm so honored to receive your award. And now I must go visit the others on your list...exploring new blogs is always so interesting.
ReplyDeleteDear Sara,
DeleteYou have a most beautiful blog. I really enjoy it. I think you will like the others too!
Hi Kay! Phew...what a week. But it was such a pleasure & truly an honour to be given this award by you! So happy that you found me and that I found you! Love to read about your life - the similarities and the differences to my own. Hoping you have a fabulous weekend and thanks so much again xoxo Rachel
ReplyDeleteDear Rachel,
DeleteYou have a beautiful blog! I thought of you today when I read that the BBC radio show, "Desert Island Discs" has been on the air for 70 years and the most requested composer is... Mozart! :-)
I have tried over the years to write about this movie, but as with another of my most favorites, Home For The Holidays, I can't do it. I love it so much but I can't find words to express my admiration for this movie. My family quotes it all the time. I think it was brilliantly made, with lots to say about life, but I don't seem to be able to write about it. Except in my comment here. :<)
ReplyDeleteDear, dear Nan,
DeleteI am so happy that you love Groundhog Day too!!!
It is one of our favorites too. Other people just think that is funny or sweet. It's amazing because he keeps reliving the same day, it just his ATTITUDE that changes. Extraordinary message in that! I love anything that is cleverly written but if there is a postive note about it too, then that makes it all the better.
Thank you so much for your comment. Now, I have to look up Home For The Holidays, I an thinking that Holly Hunter might be in that one, I've never seen it!
Did you see that Holly is from my hometown?
