Ruby Falls is what I think you are thinking of... you go down, down, down to see those underground waterfalls and I know just what you mean, not my cup of tea at all! (They turned the lights out to show how dark it was without the lights, only my sister didn't hear the announcement and she screamed quite loudly!)
LOVE your reason for being Spesh 1 and what a nice "handle" to use! (Showing my age by using that word!)
And when you wrote that Scriptor lived to tell the tale after posting your picture, that made me chuckle! :-)
Thank you Pat, Spesh 1!!Kay G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07228498846814735537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-55322925432481710702012-01-19T10:30:50.149-05:002012-01-19T10:30:50.149-05:00Yes, we did go to Rock City and to Chatanooga (spe...Yes, we did go to Rock City and to Chatanooga (spelling?) and I think it was around there that we went inside a mountain - leastways, David, Kate and Sandy did - I got down to the first level and then the guide had to take me back up - I thought I was going to die! I sat and had the most ENORMOUS hot chocolate and waited for them to tell me what I had missed!

Spesh 1 is a relic of some years ago. I used to sign off to a friend as "Me" and then someone else started signing off as "Me" too, so my dear friend said "Yes, but you are special and a number 1 person" so somehow over the years it has got shortened to "Spesh 1". He still calls me Spesh much to my husband's ammusement.

I had a laugh at Scriptor's comments. I know Jo hates having her picture taken and so do I. He put a picture of me on his blog once. He lived to tell the tale - just. It took years for them to complete, I remember it being in scaffolding during my childhood, the 60's.

YES! I think you might be thinking of Cloudland Canyon State Park which is in the northwest corner of the state, near Tennessee, near Lookout Mountain. (Easy to get there the same day!) Is that mountain nearby to you? I have a feeling that we did that the same day that we climbed Stone Mountain. By the way, the carvings on the side of Stone Mountain were something like I had never seen before - amazing. I really must find all the photographs!! Thank you for such an interesting post. So far, we have a fairly mild winter and I hope it stays that way. We have no equipment to clear snow/ice like they do up North.
