On my computer, I can't see the little photos to transfer onto my blog, so I have to use a MAGNIFYING GLASS to figure out what to transfer. Honestly, I can't spend too much time on what I am writing, since I spend so much time trying to see the photos!Kay G.http://www.georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-58142181525792449902011-10-17T19:14:22.610-04:002011-10-17T19:14:22.610-04:00Incredible photos.Incredible photos.westwoodhttp://gapingwhole.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-31160580962312885632011-10-17T18:10:07.564-04:002011-10-17T18:10:07.564-04:00Hello Kay! I've seen Stone Mountain from a distance, but I did not know it could be climbed! I love that you found Santa and the Mrs. up there. Maybe he was scouting out his Christmas Eve route.

I'm so glad you visited and introduced yourself on my blog. I can tell I will enjoy stopping here often.

SaraSara at Come Away With Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07677354270954094291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-40568629135407883512011-10-17T12:36:26.112-04:002011-10-17T12:36:26.112-04:00Kay,

We are surprised that more people don't attempt it but then, we love to walk, and a lot of folks we know don't do that either. That photo with the handrail? I once fell on the way down, even holding the rail, on a very foggy, slippery rock day, but luckily, it didn't hurt (much!).Kay G.http://www.georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-83031433011208279392011-10-17T08:44:54.130-04:002011-10-17T08:44:54.130-04:00Cheryl at her blog, Life is What You Make It alway...Cheryl at her blog, Life is What You Make It always manages to find the most incredible hearts. Here's her blog:

http://mitherof3.blogspot.com/

I avoid mountains and hill unless I can drive to it. I've tripped twice on tree roots and sprained my ankles. I am not made for climbing. My son, however, took classes in it and loves to climb mountains which always scares me.

I am in awe of you actually liking to do that. I really admire your determination and your views are spectacular.Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07461569436322815787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-35896618722279143142011-10-17T06:35:16.122-04:002011-10-17T06:35:16.122-04:00Librarian,
The laser show is very popular but you ...Librarian,
The laser show is very popular but you can guess, it's not my cup of tea either.
The wonderful thing about Stone Mountain is that because we are familar with all the trails, we know where to go for peace and quiet even on very busy weekends. You would think that people would want that too, but many times we have to get away from the loud bass of a booming radio, or sometimes, we will veer off on that Cherokee Trail I mentioned, just to get away from the crowd!
Stone Mountain is about 30 minutes from us but it is like being in another world!Kay G.http://www.georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-47116669151701687252011-10-17T06:22:09.830-04:002011-10-17T06:22:09.830-04:00Scriptor,
I am so happy that you liked this. Durin...Scriptor,
I am so happy that you liked this. During my husband's hospital stay, I kept reminding him to get better so that we could climb Stone Mountain in the Autumn. It was nice to have that as a goal.
Yes, I know it was corny to put that song in...but it was only 40 seconds long! Oh, and it was from the production that had Connie Fisher in it, the one who won "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria". Is that what it was called? We got those shows here, but YEARS after.
I loved the one with all the "Josephs". When they were voted off at the end, and they ran up those stairs and sang the song, that was the best! (I liked Rob the builder the best.)Kay G.http://www.georgiagirlwithanenglishheart.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-25160052852333308342011-10-17T02:32:56.611-04:002011-10-17T02:32:56.611-04:00Stunning views, and I agree with you about the car...Stunning views, and I agree with you about the carving, too. Also, I wouldn't care for the laser show with amplified music. If I want loud music and colourful lights, I stay in the city. Out there at the mountain, the peace and quiet surely is the main attraction.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716894977482967985.post-51231982575667958962011-10-16T22:43:07.337-04:002011-10-16T22:43:07.337-04:00Oh, you sad person putting that video in!
Seriou...Oh, you sad person putting that video in!

Seriously, it looks a magnificent place and I agree with you about the carving - a great feat but perhaps Nature can do these things better.

It's a while since I could climb a mountain and I'm grateful you let us accomapny you.
