Hello, my friends!
I have a really great article by our son that I want you to read! You can find it just here!
It is titled "15 Songs from 1976 that Still Feel Fresh 50 Years Later"!
He gives you links to each song and writes about them in detail. (Well, as much as he could in this piece anyway! I am sure he could have said much more!
I truly love that he appreciates music so very much! AND he gets paid for views on many of his pieces and THIS is one of them, so please, read it and tell all your friends to do so! If you don't have time to listen to each song, be sure to scroll down to the end where he sums up his feelings about the longevity and value of good music.
Of course, you are welcome to listen to each and every song if you so choose!

You know the songs from back then (my generation) were so much happier than the ones I hear today.
ReplyDelete"Talkin' bout my generation"! Remember that song? Tee hee! You know I am the same generation as you and I agree with you.
DeleteI can't tell you how much I enjoyed this! Because - I turned 16 in 1976 so this took me right back there. Isn't it funny how music can transport you? That summer I was working on a celery farm and this music would play in the celery packing building, so as I listened, those memories came back. I enjoyed each song.
ReplyDeleteYour son did a great job!
Thank you! So glad you liked it too! I like the idea of you working on that celery farm rocking away to the music. That's lovely .x
DeleteGreat article, but 1976 was a long time ago? No! I swear it was just the other day. I was in high school, wearing a Gunne Sax dress, and listening to a lot of those songs. Your son made great choices.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thanks, Janie for reading the article! And you know I had a Gunne Sax dress, we have good taste!
DeleteI think I still have at least one of my Gunne Sax dresses packed away. Those dresses were the best.
DeleteSo do I!
DeleteI have not yet looked at the article, as we‘re about to go to breakfast, but I was 8 years old in 1976 and wonder how many of the songs I will know.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of Richard - love the t-shirt!
As you know, Christopher was born in 1989 but he fascinates me with his knowledge of music! I got Richard to play the guitar at a party and you can't see the people listening but I think they enjoyed the music! And the 2nd photo is a close up of a canvas bag that I carry when I hike! LOL!
DeleteHello, my friends! 🌿✨
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic feature to share—“15 Songs from 1976 that Still Feel Fresh 50 Years Later” sounds like such a nostalgic and well-curated journey through music history 🎶
I love the idea of combining storytelling with direct song links and thoughtful reflections on each track. It’s the kind of article that invites you to slow down, listen, and really revisit an era in a meaningful way. And I agree—sometimes there’s always even more that could be said when the music is that rich!
Thanks for sharing this gem with us 😊

Thank you! Our son is a jewel.
DeleteWell AC/DC are OK, but real music died in 1974.
ReplyDeleteMusic never dies! (And AC/DC? Okay if you say so!)
DeleteGood article, I enjoyed it! Oh 1976, I remember it well. I was in first & second year at university. Where has 50 years gone?
ReplyDeleteDebra, I am right there with you, we are the same age! (Same wisdom too, I am sure. LOL for me.)
DeleteGood music lasts forever. I sometimes wonder what of today's music will last the course.
ReplyDeleteYou know that I agree with you and our son does too! "Today's music ain't got the same soul....". Guess you know that line from a song!
DeleteI agree with some of them but musical tastes are so complex that even folk that like the same artist, prefer different songs by them. Good to have a passion in life for all music and tastes.
ReplyDeleteBob, you remind me of my high school friends who used to tease me with my fondness for John Denver, Glen Campbell, The Eagles, Linda Rondstadt, ELO, etc.... They were much more into heavy rockers. To each his own, I say! (The Eagles have the best song in this piece, I think!)
DeleteThose are all great songs. He has outstanding taste in music.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thanks very much for viewing it!
DeleteI love the oldies songs! I think they could last forever too!
ReplyDeleteOldies but goodies! Thanks for reading it!
DeleteOh gosh... How embarrassing. This was mostly after my time. I wasn't paying much attention to music during that time period. Ouch! But it was a lot of fun seeing his website. He's a wonderful writer. And I did love the music I recognize and remembered.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kay! I didn't love all those songs but I loved how he wrote about them all!
DeleteMy favourite song from that list is Hotel California! I do love oldies! I also love disco! I am a baby boomer (born in 1956), and many songs from that time bring back great memories for me! And I have always loved Abba!
ReplyDeleteYes! I loved the Eagles! Their concert in Atlanta in the late 70's was one of the best ever! Abba! So good! You are just one year older than I am, so we know the same tunes! xx
DeleteThose are great songs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for viewing! I appreciate it.
DeleteNot a clunker song in his bunch!
ReplyDeleteOh, I will tell him you said so! He will be well pleased! Thanks, KG for reading his piece. Hey, we are both KG!
DeleteSeventies music sounds better than today's pop music.
ReplyDeleteI think so too! Thanks for reading his piece!
DeleteIt’s such fun to listen to the older songs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading it and listening!
DeleteWell done by your talented son. Good old songs last forever. I am singing 'We are the Champions' with my choir these days :)
ReplyDeletePS I had to delete my blog for personal reasons, but hope to start a new one when I can.
I clicked on your name and when your blog didn't come up, I did wonder. So sorry you had to delete your blog, truly I am. Please do begin a new one, let me know when you have. ❤️
DeleteJust have to figure out how to start over. It's been 15 years!
DeleteOops, I made a start today and just noticed I had chosen the same background as you :) Only experimenting just now.
DeleteGreat minds think alike! I like those flying birds. And the tan background seems calming to me.
DeleteI've done it. I have changed from red to pink, and am now Camellia Cottage. Hope you pop by. It has been a bit of a drama but I am rising above it. Went to see The Devil Wears Prada 2 today. The fashions are sooo good.
DeleteSo glad you got your new blog! Please do a post about that film and the fashions. I love your fashion posts! All the best. xx
DeleteHeading over to read it now! I love oldies.
