Music From One Love Manchester

Chris Martin and Ariana Grande AND the wonderful singers in the crowd singing "Don't Look Back In Anger" at the One Love Manchester concert from this past weekend, this is the video I have for you.  If you don't have time to listen to all of it, just fast forward to the last minute or so and listen to the crowd.  Thousands of voices joined together...if this doesn't move you, you don't have a heart.

Okay, you know how much I love music so I have to share another one with you...it is "Angels" by Robbie Williams.  Once again, I find this particularly moving due to the audience participation.  Those young voices!   Just beautiful.

(I just read that the Manchester benefit concert raised more than $13 million for the victims of the May 22nd attack.)

Something of hope for you...the eggs of a mockingbird.  Like life, they are fragile and precious.

  4. Thanks, Kay. I listened to the entire 'Don't Look Back In anger' clip - a number I love anyway - and it was fantastic. I wondered whether the concert was too soon - but seeing the crowds and listening to interviews, it was obviously just right. Good for you for sharing this.

    1. I know, I thought the entire song was good but I know that most people don't click on all my YouTube videos that I share!
And I hope to always share what I find to be uplifting and inspiring.

  5. We saw parts of the concert on the news too, and it brought tears to my eyes. How heroic everyone is; the artists must have thought about their own safety, but they all came anyway. A historic occasion, and thank you for sharing it.

    1. You are welcome! I looked at all the clips and I thought these two were the very best, especially showing the crowd singing along in unison.

    1. There are those who disagree with us, Mimi. One comment I read, "I suppose there will be people who will light candles, as if that does any good." Well...that just floors me. What? It IS better to light a candle than to curse the darkness, I truly believe that.

  8. Wonderful videos. They give so much hope!Music has power!

And those lovely mockingbird eggs. I've never seen them before. They are like the color of robin's eggs but with speckles.

    1. I very much agree, music is powerful!
Those eggs! I was thrilled to see them! The nest was in the camellia bush just beside my Dad's front porch and I was able to quickly take that photo when the mockingbird flew off the nest. I had seen photos of the eggs but had never seen them myself. You are right, they ARE the color of robin's eggs just with speckles!
You have made my day by loving them too!

  9. Life is fragile and precious but, as always, it goes on and finds a way. It's great how people have come together and to hear them all singing together as one. That's something I've always loved about live musical performances. It's even better when you can really feel the emotion.

    1. They showed the concert here on TV too, but only after the NCAA basketball game and the late news, so I got the time wrong and missed recording it. It must have been shown at 1AM or some such crazy hour.
Happy to share the mockingbird eggs with you. As many years as I have seen mockingbirds, this year was the first time I have seen the eggs!
Remember from the book..."it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.".

  11. I watched the whole concert with tears flowing...but also with smiles for the strength, the love and the resilience of those who performed, for those in the audience - and especially for those who were personally affected by the horror.
