Coming Home For Christmas (Song by CHAS & DAVE!)

HEY!  Would you like to see one of the sweetest TV ads ever?
It features the wonderful Chas & Dave! I have spoken of them before and have had some videos of their songs on my blog. Just recently, I felt that one of my blogging friends could use some cheering up, so I suggested that he listen to Chas & Dave! (I am sure you do everything I advise, right Ad-Man?) And then today, I see this brand new video! I assume this will be on TV in England, but by the magic of YouTube...I have it here for all of us!

Everyone is talking about the "super moon" yesterday and today.
It is pretty and bright but let me tell you a secret...the moon is always super to me! The photo below was taken last month! Here is a link to an article that I think you might like.... Super Moon or is it?    Anything that makes people look at the moon is a good thing, and a full moon is a marvelous thing but I honestly love the moon in all its phases.

Guess what! It RAINED in Georgia yesterday!  Not very much, I am afraid, and I think our house must have received about 17 raindrops, that's IT!  (Other places just a few miles away got more rainfall than we did.)
Also, the forest fires have intensified and the wind changed direction, and the smoke was back today in the Metro Atlanta area.  Today, the smoke blocked the sun...I have never seen that before.  We are still hoping and praying for rain.  Now, I am praying that rains will come to help the firefighters.
P.S. I know I said I would change my header when I got rain but doggone it, 17 raindrops...I wanted more!!

  1. 17 raindrops is not enough to change your header photo, I agree. I do hope you get more rain very soon.
No super moon visible here last night, it was completely overcast although all day had been sunny and beautiful (but frosty).
Lovely advert! I am glad I live close enough to my parents to see them as often as I like, and of course we'll be spending Christmas together as long as they live.

    1. Glad you like the TV ad also, I was very pleased that the song was by Chas & Dave too.
I saw that in many places people couldn't see the moon because of clouds, we didn't have that problem here!

  2. I too love the moon (as you will know from my blog) but I'm down in Glasgow at the moment and couldn't see the moon for the rain (sorry!).

    1. Yes! I do know how much you love the moon! I have a whole series of moon photos on my computer at work as a screen saver...I downloaded them for free but I have enjoyed them for years, the photos are from all over the world but the moon features in each one.

  6. Wow. 17 drops is not that much. Hope all is well with the wildfires talked about in the mountains? :-)

    1. I just heard the firefighters on the radio today, one said that in the mountains, there is no way they can water on the fires, they just have to keep "digging a line". Wow, that must be really, really hard work. My thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters.

  8. I am happy you got a little (very little!) bit of rain and will keep on hoping you get more. A darling ad.....This evening I watched A Grand Night In, the story of Aardman. (The people who made Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.) You might enjoy it, too.

  10. So pleased you had rain, and your moon picture is lovely. The Super moon does look bigger to me, and we are told it is 15% larger than normal due to proximity to the earth. Maybe it is more evident closer to the equator or in the southern hemisphere?

    1. I had a link to a better explanation about the moon not really being that much bigger to our eyes but doggone if I can find it now!
My moon photo was from last month, when the moon was not called the super moon!

  11. I don't think it rained in Dekalb County - how I wish! I blogged about the moon and the smoke, too, but my photo is not as awesome as that one.

    1. It rained in North Rockdale County, Monroe and Athens...it also rained in Newton County and Morgan County...I have friends and family in all those areas. In South Rockdale, very little...and at my house, those precious 17 drops! :-)

  12. Cute commercial, Kay! I loved when they were trying to get their bags off the conveyor belt. Your moon photo is awesome. I could barely see it yesterday morning because the smoke from the wildfires was back. I do hope and pray rain comes soon! And I pray for everyone's safety, especially the firefighters.

  13. We were having clouds and rain here in the desert east of the Cascade Mountains. I missed the "super moon" in it's fullness. But I love the moon all the time. Will pray for the end of your drought.

The moon is something that we should notice all the time, not just when the news tells us to!

  14. 17 rain drops isn't much but it's a start. Here's to many more. I don't watch much TV so I don't see a lot of ads but we Brits do love our Christmas ads.
