Bad News BRAVES

Baseball Season!  The Atlanta Braves have played nine games now...and have lost every single one! We really should remember that we had many years that we enjoyed watching them win.  I hope you enjoyed it, because they are losing now! Here is something that would be funny...the players should put on long, blonde wigs, wear dresses and sing this song...

That would be amusing, don't you think?  It is a bit sad, the commentators are having to do a bit of stretch in trying to find anything positive to say.  My Dad, who absolutely loves baseball AND the Braves is very disappointed.  On the opening day, I called him...he had a bowl of collard greens to eat and a baseball game about to start.  "It don't get any better than this", is what he said to me!  Shame on you, Braves!  GET with it and PLAY Ball!  That is an order!   Sorry, my friends, if there is a small chance that any of the players could read this post, then I couldn't resist typing that for them!

Here is a photo of Christopher posing with a photo of two GREATS, Hank Aaron and Chipper Jones.  Perhaps this will somehow inspire the Atlanta Braves and maybe they will win a game. After all, they can't lose them all...or CAN they?

  1. Well, between your dad and his collards and Christopher's photo...if that doesn't do the trick, I don't know what will. Maybe we should put a few of those Callery pear thorns under their seats.

  3. Sounds like a very bad time for the Braves. This is where their real fans are made though. Being a fan means sticking with your team even in the rough patches.

  4. I know - what's up with that?

  5. There is something about baseball that always warms my heart. Maybe because it reminds me of warmer weather or perhaps it's because it's the only sport I ever understood. The opening day of baseball here in my neck of the woods was cancelled due to snow. It's starting to warm up here now so I too am hoping for some good baseball !

  6. Oh, I feel your pain. Thirty years ago, the Edmonton Oilers were the best hockey team in the NHL, winning FIVE Stanley Cups! Then came the long downward slide right into the toilet. Now they're consistently down at the bottom of the league every year. But fans must keep the faith. WE WILL RISE AGAIN!

  7. It's awful, but not unexpected, they've traded everyone except Freddie Freeman off. I know they say they've stocked the minors with lots of good young pitchers, but I'm not hopeful.
The pitching hasn't been that bad this year, we've been in most of the games, but the hitting is atrocious.

  8. I sure hope they don't lose them all! I still watch and hope and hope they'll win. I keep making up reason they don't but Hey at times they do play good. Hopefully as the season goes on they'll get better and better and win the World Series, now wouldn't that be GREAT!

  9. I feel bad for your Braves. I hurt every time my Tigers lose and they have lost many times over the years. My condolences to your father but I would like to remind him that things will eventually pick up. The braves usually have a decent team.

  10. Your lad is a fine looking young man, Kay. You, rightly so, must be very proud of him.

Baseball is not a "big" sport down here, but many years ago I was a spectator at a game held in Brisbane between a local team and a US team who were visiting our fair shores at the time. And I enjoyed the experience.
