November Colors With Kisses

Well!  How have you all been?  I have been a bit of a nutcase doing one thing or another.  You would never believe it, but I spent one whole hour today just working on the GIFT bags that I have for presents for the gals at work...yes that is just the art work that I put on the gift bags...that does not take into account the time to buy presents to put into them! What do I think I am, an artist or something? Gee, they probably won't even NOTICE it!  Oh well!

I know everyone is saying "Merry Christmas" already but I want to say...it's not Christmas yet...we need to be preparing for it! And by doing that I will remember the bright colors of Autumn in Georgia! All of these photos were taken in November.
Tree at Arabia Mountain Trail...not sure what it is!

I took this photo! Mums in my backyard.

Sunrise in front of my house!

Walking at Stone Mountain!

This photo was taken Nov. 29th.  I was raking leaves and looked up and loved the red leaves against my house.

This is my pretty sister, Pam, modeling the hat and cowl that I crocheted for her! She is and always has been a beauty! This was on Thanksgiving day and even though it was one of the coldest Thanksgivings I can remember, you can see how bright and sunny it was!

Hope everyone is staying well.  I saw a thing on the news that said it might be a good idea to not shake hands so as to not spread germs...they suggested bumping ELBOWS! They showed it being done and it looked hilarious! Maybe we could just blow kisses like they tell little children to do.
Blowing kisses to you all!  xx

  1. Your photos are always stunning. I spent maybe an hour myself today putting gifts in gift bags for the ladies in my Bible study and our grandkids. I would notice the artwork in a gift bag. How thoughtful.
Your sister is pretty and the scarf and cowl are lovely. She looks very good in them.

    1. Thank you! And It really does take a while to get gift bags together, just like it used to do when we wrapped presents. I miss just wrapping presents myself, my husband can do it so expertly, he never uses scissors, just a very sharp knife!
isn't she lovely? I was so happy that she liked what I made for her, that is just what she was wearing when I gave them to her, it is a purple sweater. Later when I saw her, she was wearing grey and the bright colors looked stunning with her good looks!

  3. Some lovely colours Kay. My Christmas is already over as I've sent all my parcels off to relatives in Australia last week and the rest is easy to wrap. All my cards are out so that's it done for another year :o)
Your woolen garments look far more professional than some of the single colour hand knitted items I've seen on children here. PS. My American spell checker keeps underlining Colour as a mistake but it's the correct spelling this side of the pond. Leave our language alone:o)

    1. Ha, ha- if you happen to get on Santa's NAUGHTY list, then you might be getting something crocheted by me! Better be good! :-)
Colour, I know is the British spelling. It took Richard a long time to spell it the American way, also, he wanted to spell "check" like this.."cheque"!
I once typed a letter and used the word "shall" and the computer said that was wrong too!
Hope you have a lovely Christmas in your part of the British Isles!

  4. Your November colors are gorgeous. And your sister is beautiful. So much "pretty" could make you wish that November would stay forever.

    1. You are so right. November is always so colorful, most people think it is October but in Georgia, some of the most intense colors are in the 11th month of the year! And I also agree that my sister is pretty, I have another sister too, just as pretty! :-)

You would love this area in the Autumn, I think it is just as pretty as Spring.

  6. Wonderful pictures, Kay! The colours are stunning, and so is your sis!
I am sure the "gals at work" will not only notice your artwork on their gift bags, but they'll LOVE it.
It's been mostly grey and dull over here, but we've had glimpses of the sun last week. Way too mild still (not that I mind!) for this time of year. I guess we could be in for a "green" Christmas rather than a white one.

    1. Stunning! Thank you!
Hmmm. MAYBE the gals will notice, I will let you know!
We have had cold, then hot, then cold again...it has been very strange, you never know how to dress!
One of the only white Christmases that we had was a few years back and that was the one we spent in the ER!

  7. Our society has forgotten that it's not Christmas until Christmas Eve -- up until then, it's Advent! It's funny how everything is "Christmas everywhere" and then it just suddenly stops on the 26th. The old way, of Advent and then 12 Days of Christmas until Epiphany was better, i think.

Lovely pictures, and i hope you have a picture perfect Advent and Christmas season!

    1. Growing up as a Baptist, I didn't know Advent. As a teenager, when I learns of Advent, I totally got it and have had it as part of my life ever since.
I have always loved looking forward and the sweet anticipation of a future happy event.
Wishing you a peaceful Advent and joyous Christmas!

  8. That cowl looks excellent. Great work crocheting it. The trees around me have gone from beautifully bronze to just bare. It's a little sad but those leaves will be back soon enough in a few months. I'm now just realising how odd it is trees shed for winter when a lot of animals get a thicker coat and shed for the summer.

    1. Trees! I love them, which is just as well, since we have so many here! Although, the development in this area have taken away a lot of them.
Hope you have a happy Christmas!

    1. That wreath is also in honor of my sister...that was on her door a few years back and the red bow against that blue door! I loved it!
Let's see, we try to have a Chicken Roast dinner with roast potatoes and I love to have Christmas crackers and wear the silly hats and tell the silly jokes...if only I could hear the Queen's speech! Happy Christmas to you! xx

  12. Blowing kisses right back at you from Southern California! I love that you spent all day on those gift bags! I am sure you enjoyed it very much too because being creative is so absorbing the time flies right by. Hopefully the recipients will notice, if not all, at least one of them must have an artistic soul! Loving those brilliant trees, and the colorful cap and cowl on your pretty sister.

I also had spent hours on the wreath on my door, I make it myself, and it doesn't look anything like my header photo...that was my sister's door!
Happy Christmas to you in California! xx

  14. I refuse to bump elbows with anyone! What's next??? How ridiculous some people are...I guess they went to uni to do a few course to enable them to conduct such researches to come up with these brilliant ideas!

All the photos, as usual, are beautiful. :)

Don't tell anyone how pretty Georgia really is! It will be our little secret!
      Wishing you a lovely Christmas!
(Still hoping for your book about the Victorians. They did so much, it must be a long book! Richard and I loved our visit to London in September, it was like a happy dream. xx)
