Happy Birthday To Our Son

Pretty yellow tree on right, that is where we are going!

Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving to our son, Christopher! (Same day this year!)
It was raining the day that we visited C. at his home which is on the OTHER side of Atlanta (which means we have to go through Atlanta traffic to get to him!).  There are so many trees in his neighborhood and even on a foggy day like this one, you could still see the color!

See Richard talking with C. and with his friend Jim? I am taking this photo in the rain!

MUSIC!  It is so important to our son.  He has written music all through his teen-age years and is a very talented young man.  I only wish that he had more time for it.  The world is in great need of melody just now!  I thank all of you who left encouraging comments on the posts where I have mentioned his band!

Listen to the lyrics of "Simple Man" from Lynyrd Skynyrd and think of me singing this to Christopher!

Of course, I have to have a song from England on here for Christopher! He always loved this song by The Hollies as a little boy and you can tell what good taste he has always had in music! (And I always thought that "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" sounded like it was from a Southern band anyway!)

Please note that all of these photos were taken by me! You can always tell my photos, mine are always a bit crooked, or else  I manage to get in a lot of pavement.  I think I must be lower to the ground than Richard!  HA!
(Oh, just one by Richard...the one of C. on top of Arabia Mountain, touching the tree...I love that one!)

Happy Birthday, Christopher!  LOVE YOU!  xx

  2. Happy Birthday, dear Christopher, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the family and your friends!
That's a beautiful neighbourhood with so many trees, and the house looks so neat and tidy and homely.
When it is my sister's or my birthday, our Dad always gives our Mum a bunch of roses, because she gave him us. I always think that is such a loving gesture from my Dad. Richard and you certainly both deserve a big bunch of roses for having made such a wonderful son who has become such a talented young man!

I love the idea of the roses, that is such a sweet thing to do! And I am thankful that our son is very much like Richard, talented in so many ways! ;-)

  4. Happy Thanksgiving, and many happy returns of the day to your son!

(In our house, when my brother's birthday falls on Thanksgiving, we give him a big cookie cake with a turkey decoration and tell him it's a turkey for our turkey born on Turkey Day!)

    1. Thank you, Jim! Glad you liked this music too, that Hollies song is one that we heard a lot at the skating rink in the 70's, it has such a great beat!
Those trees! You are so right, they ARE huge and quite beautiful although it gives me a bit of a worry to think of them so close to his house!
Oh yes...laughing a bit here... you might think it odd that I would think of that, but it truly is something that I do sometimes, I will be looking at the sky or up at a tree and walk right into something! :-)

Our autumn was gorgeous, every year it always amazes me!
Loved your snow photos though, we don't get that very often here.

  9. Never enough good music in the world. Always liked Skynyrd and learned all the words to Sweet Home Alabama years ago. Never heard that Hollies song. Enjoyed it.
Hope it was a nice Birthday with no stray zombies wandering off set in Atlanta :)

    1. Sweet Home Alabama! "Turn it up"!
You didn't know the Hollies song? Good, I am glad I had it on here then!
The Walking Dead is filmed in Georgia ...but it is the Vampires I have to watch out for. The Vampire Diaries are filmed right here in Conyers and sometimes, they shut the small streets down in downtown Conyers to film!

  17. Happy Birthday, handsome Christopher. That silhouette shot of Christopher is one of my favorites too. I also love your gorgeous fall header!

    1. Thanks, Kay! I know I have used that silhouette before, but like you, I really do like it!!
And you know, Richard and I just saw some shadowy figures in amongst the colorful leaves...he sees a man as if he is sitting on a bench near the fence and I see the outline of a man standing. Funny how our eyes pick things out, isn't it?
