Ryan Ferguson - On 48 Hours

There is an old jail at Arabia Mountain which was in use in when the mountain was being quarried. Richard took this photo last Sunday. Of course, it made me think of Ryan Ferguson, who I have written about before.   You may read my post here.   It looks as if the TV show "48 Hours" on CBS will be about Ryan Ferguson tonight (Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013).  Please watch it if you get the chance.  If you are reading this from another country, I think you could possibly watch it after it is aired on TV on Youtube.  (And I think that anyone could see it, after this date also.)

We have had a lot of rain and the weatherman said that he had an official weather term for it:  he said it was "YUCKY".  Then, he reported on all the snow in the midwest and said we in Georgia officially had NOTHING to complain about!  Of course, that reminded me of a song, as almost everything does, if you know anything about me...
The song is "Good Life" by OneRepublic and it has been around for a few years now, but it is a positive kind of song and one that kind of stays on your mind a bit, if you let it.

Now, how does all of this tie in together?  Not sure, really myself, could someone explain it to me?  I just hope that Ryan Ferguson is freed one day and that he is able to build his good life without bitterness or hatred for everything that he has gone through.  And that we think that we might have a bad day and then remember what other people are going through...

Oh dear, this has reminded of another songwriter but that will have to wait for another post!
Let me know if you see "48 Hours" and what you think.

UPDATE:
I watched "48 Hours"  and I am hopeful for Ryan Ferguson but I could not help but notice a real disappointment from both him and his lawyer. She stated that for the first time in her life she felt ashamed to be a lawyer, that is how strong she feels of the injustice done to this young man. It left me feeling very sad.

  1. It's so true. We really need to be thankful for what we have as so many are going through much worse. I always try to remember today might not be good, but there is something good in every day!

    1. There is something written by George Herbert, I think it was, who said, "Lord, you have given us so much, give us one thing more- a thankful heart."
      Amen!

  2. I agree-we need to be thankful for what we have and being just where we are. I feel so sorry for that young man. It is unbelievable how justice can be so improperly served sometimes- xo Diana

  3. Yes, I remember your post about Ryan Ferguson. I wonder why nothing is being done, why he is still in prison even though the witnesses have admitted to their lying.

On a brighter note: if it wasn't for the "yucky" rain, there wouldn't be such beautiful rock pools on Arabia Mountain!

    1. The case is being considered now for the State Supreme Court, I hope it will happen.
Meike, you are so right about that rain. You pay attention to my posts on Arabia! We LOVE to see the pools of water there and with all this rain, it has been like small clear lakes, really beautiful.

  8. Cultivating gratitude is really the only way to live life without bitterness and regret.

Maybe Georgia and Louisiana could get together and send some of our rain to the drought areas.

    1. I am glad you can understand what I am trying to say!

We really need this rain in Georgia, but it seems we get a lot all at one time!!

  9. This is so awful! I hadn't heard about Ryan Ferguson, but I have heard of other similar cases. It's evil that people are still in jail who are known to be innocent.

    1. I agree. It would be terrible to have a jury convict you when you know that you are innocent.

  10. That pool is so pretty!
And the header - is that from this season? It's amazing how far along your spring is. It is still very much winter here - we are under a blizzard warning tonight.

It has been fairly mild here, just very wet.

  12. Good morning Kay. Oh, your header gives me hope that spring will arrive here eventually, thanks.
We have had here in Nova Scotia a couple of high-profile cases regarding the wrongly accused. It certainly is a travesty of justice to say the least. And you are correct, the 'system' does at times have a difficult time in admitting an oversight or an error in judgement. This poor fellow. With all this media attention he will hopefully be freed. This just shows the 'power' we ordinary people have to get things changed when we put our mind to it.

I know what you mean about 'hearing' a song.....I am doing this all the time! Something gets triggered in the brain and before I know I break out in song!! lol

    1. Oh, I truly hope that you are right and that with all the TV coverage, that Ryan Ferguson will be released from prison. Thank you so much for your hopeful comment!

Yes, I am afraid that my head is full of songs and memories of songs, I am like a bad musical, ready to burst into song at any minute. Somebody stop me, I feel one coming on!!
