Happy Birthday to Joan!

                                                                  Proud...
Beautiful...

All describe my mother-in-law, Joan, whose birthday is tomorrow, December 5th.  Happy Birthday, Joan!  Please send your best wishes to Joan! Just look at that smile!  What an elegant, beautiful lady!

And the Queen sends her best wishes too, but don't worry, you are not old enough to get a card from her, not just yet anyway!  :-)     With Much Love From Your CHEEKY Daughter-in-law.  xx
Why do they say "Mum" in England and we say "Mom" in America?  These flowers are called "mums" so here are some mums for you, Joan!

  3. Happy Birthday to you, Joan! I am glad you have given Kay permission to show photos of the family - we'd love her blog anyway, but since she talks about you so much, it is just a lot nicer to actually see the people she's on about!

    1. And when you look like models, don't you think that Joan & Peter should want to have their photos on here?

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a lovely English lady. I came to your Blog via Scriptor and I first met him - a man from England - in Scotland when we first moved up here and stayed with his brother Graham, before we bought our house. Life has a funny way of leading you around and around, before it lets you meet the best people.

You know, I just saw those letters MIL, on someone's blog, it took me a minute to figure out what they stood for. I am so old sometimes!

YAY! So happy to see your comment here and thankful that you are not TOO mad at me for putting you on there, Joan, with that hair dryer on your head!
You look good, even in that! How many could say that?

  10. Happy birthday to Joan!

My daughter calls me Ma - I think she's been watching too much Little House on the Prairie! She also calls me Mother but usually only when I'm doing something embarrassing ;-)

    1. Oh, I loved Little House On The Prairie! And my Dad called his mother "Ma", and I called my mother "Mama" but my son called me "Mommy" and then, "Mom".
Gee whiz, what will the next generation say? :-)
Oh and I do remember "Moth-ER", said just that way, eh?
Thanks so much for your happy birthday wishes for Joan!
