The Best Son

These top two photos are the most recent of our son.   He has a sweet smile, just like his Dad! (These photos are on top of Arabia Mountain, and I took both of them!)
Christmas Party, 2009.

On the Eastbourne Seafront in England.  Posing with Snow-In-Summer! June 2010.

Christmas Eve at Aunt Pam's, 2009.

With his English Grandparents on the Bluebell Walk in England in May 2010.

4th of July 2009 with his American Grandfather, "Papa".

One of the songs that I sang to my baby was "Cuddle Up A Little Closer". I knew it from Chas & Dave (my son grew up with their music!)  and they sang it in a kind of honky tonk style, but I sang it like a lullaby, very softly. I'm glad that this singer has recorded it as a lullaby. It is perfect for babies.  Listen and memorize it and you will have a song at the ready whenever you need to get a baby to sleep!  Happy Birthday, Christopher, you will always be the babe!

These are beautiful photos, Kay! And the two you took on top are fantastic. Don't be so hard on yourself about photography (like I find you are on some posts)! I think you take great images!

    1. Dear Martha,
Thank you and I love the musical notes you have here for him and for your good wishes!
Thanks, Martha! I am only being honest. After we look at our photos on the camera, I just pick the best looking ones for my blog and most of them happen to be Richard's! I thank you very much for your kind comment though! (And Richard & I both love YOUR photography!)

  6. Well, Kay, it is hardly surprising that you have the Best Son - he has the Best Mom & Dad, and the Best Grandparents - he couldn't have turned out anything else!
You'll see, now that you have shown so many pictures of this handsome young man, you'll have fan mail arriving for him by the truckload :-)
Happy (belated?) Birthday to you, Christopher! Time for another guest post...?

A belated Happy Birthday Christopher. Am I right in thinking that it is number 23?

I loved that sweet song, I love that it was written in the early 1900's. Why can't we have music like that now?

    1. My poor boy, he has heard his whole life how much he looks like his mother. He is more like Richard now, in his mannerisms and also, his nice deep voice, it might be deeper than Richard's!
So happy you like the song too! It's an easy one to sing, that's the only kind I try.

  11. Lovely pictures and of course he is the best son in the whole wide world, just the same as Kate is the best daughter in the whole wide world. Strange parents if we didn't don't you think?

Kate has just left us again to go back to work and will be spending the next 6 months in the Caribbean. We are missing her already.

I hope you all had a wonderful "Christopher's Birthday."

    1. Hey Pat!
I was just thinking about you! :-)
Yes! Isn't it amazing how our children are just the BEST, that is just the way that it should be.
I know you miss your Kate but wow, that must be so much fun to spend all that time in the Caribbean. I know she is working but I hope she gets to have some "off" time on a beach somewhere!
And today is really C's birthday, but he is one busy guy, so I knew if I did the post today, he wouldn't see it. Thanks so much for your well wishes.
Hope all is well for you on your beautiful island! xx

The bluebell walk was in Arlington, East Sussex, not far from Eastbourne.
I found the website to it if you would like to see it. Is it anywhere close to where you live? Of course, I know that are bluebell walks too. I hope the ash trees stay healthy, I've read they are important for bluebells.

  18. Kay,
Thank you for posting these wonderful photos of The Little Vermint himself! Wow! He is looking great, and yes, the resemblance to BOTH you and Richard is fantastic!
I always thought Christopher was the smartest and dearest child I ever met, and it is very obvious in these photos and your postings that he is STILL extraordinary. I have a feeling he will always be a blessing to all he meets. Bless you & Richard for being such wonderful people. All 3 of you have been a blessing to me.
