Watch How You Go

Oscar Pistorius, the 'Blade Runner'

Does anyone else feel sad because we have no Olympics to watch this week?   Do you remember when Kirani James changed his runner's tag with Oscar Pistorius, just as a sign of great respect?  Nicknamed "The BladeRunner", he is an inspiration.  Here is the link for Oscar Pistorius if you would like to know more about him:

This song from Keane is called "Watch How You Go" and somehow fits the way that I feel just now. I wish that they could have sung this during the Closing Ceremony, it seems appropriate, almost like a blessing.

  1. It feels odd not to turn the TV on first thing in the morning to see if we've won any medals yet today.

  3. Oh yes Kay, now the Olympics are over I feel bereft. But I'm looking forward to the Paralympics which begin on 29th August. Love that song.

  4. Yes, it always a big disappointment when they come to an end. More so for us this year, with them being held over here. I too am looking forward to the Paralympics.

  5. Just like Christmas, there is nothing so over as the Olympics.

  6. Great song ~ I didn't know it but I do like it. And you already know I'm missing those Olympics. It's the only time I really watch TV.

  9. I also miss the Olympics already. I think Oscar P. was brilliant. I was disgusted at how NBC presented the Olympics to America - a far cry for London's class act.

  10. There's nothing on tv worth watching now!

  11. We aren't able to get NBC here (we don't have cable or satellite), so I didn't get to watch them, but I really enjoyed the few highlights I got to see. I particularly loved the inspiring stories.

That's a very nice song---I'd never heard it. Thanks, Kay, for sharing it.

  12. We really miss the Olympics in our house. My kids loved watching the swimming, the gymnastics, and the athletics. One of my little boys is a sports fanatic and he would have watched the Olympics every waking hour, if I let him. Back to school happened for us this week in Kentucky, so even though I miss the Olympics, there is a little part of me happy they are over. I would never get my kids to go to bed on time if they thought they were missing out on some of the action.

  13. That moment between Pistorius and James is definitely a high point. LOVED it. Didn't like Bolt though. That ego is going to crush him someday. I definitely miss the nightly Olympics and am going through withdrawal right now.

  14. Thanks for all your comments!
Like the other Kay above, I guess I was going through withdrawal this past week!
