In The Summertime

.

In The Summertime in Georgia ...can you see that in the photo of the swimming pool, I got my brother in mid-air just as he was doing a cannnball into his swimming pool? The cloud photo was at my home, but the pool and the porch photos are from my brother's house, and the sunflowers and watermelon are from my Dad's.

The hummingbird feeder with precious hummingbird is also at my house!

In The Summertime was a hit song from 1970.  Of course, you know that I remember it very well, it was such a huge hit and I remember hearing it at Lake Spivey
Anybody in Atlanta area remember Lake Spivey?

Hope everyone is having fun IN THE SUMMERTIME!!

    1. Thanks! And oddly enough, even though the styles from 1970 look funny, the song still sounds good today!

  3. I love that song, Kay; perfect for a hot, summer day. Those photos are so 'summery', and I'm especially drawn to the swimming pool! I could live in one these days with all the hot, dry weather we're having. It hasn't rained for the longest time, and everything outside is suffering. I can't imagine what this is doing to the farmers. And while I'm soaking in the pool, I wouldn't mind munching on some watermelon -- my favourite fruit!

    1. And hey, did you know that if you put a watermelon in a swimming pool, that it will float? Try it!
We sometimes have to make our own entertainment in Georgia!

    1. Thanks! And you are so right about hummingbirds, you should see me trying to take photos of them hovering at the feeder, at least this one is resting while feeding.

  5. My Dad played that song from a 7" record many times during my and my sister's childhood - we are very familiar with it :-)

Wow, your brother must be RICH!! A huge pool and elegant porch with pillars... I am impressed!

The sunflowers and watermelon from your Dad's place are just so beautiful.

    1. Happy that you know this song too!
It is a beautiful home, as are all the homes that belong to my siblings, but I don't think you would call any of us rich, not in the sense that you mean.
We ARE rich in health and in love.
And I have THREE swimming pools (for my birds anyway!)
Can you tell I love to take photos at my Dad's? :-)

    1. Thanks Tracey! I just leaving and when I looked back and saw how pretty the pool looked, I got out my camera...just at that moment, my brother got on the diving board and....SNAP, I caught him suspended in air!
Love my hummingbirds and my Dad can get a watermelon this size in one of the worst droughts ever!

  7. Ooh lovely pictures, specially the pool. And a nice cheerful song. We are still getting rain and grey skies here but it is predicted to improve somewhat next week and for the rest of the summer. Let's keep fingers crossed!

    2. Hey Jenny!
I messed up my answer there to you, sorry!
I was trying to say that on a recent episode of Inspector Lewis, they mentioned "The Hunting of the Snark", of course, I knew all about it!!!
Will keep my fingers crossed for you about your weather.

  8. Lovely photos,I wish I was getting some of that sunshine. I've always wanted a rocking chair. It's so soothing just rocking to and fro. I remember that song very well indeed, it still gets a lot of airplay.

    1. I think that song was one of those one-hit wonders but doggone it, it is a happy little song, isn't it?
The sun will come out for the Olympics and everyone will be shocked at the lovely weather, I can just feel it in my bones.

  10. Oh Wow! That is some pool. It all looks wonderful. I do so enjoy seeing your pictures. I have just read your comment on Scriptor's Blog. Yes, that is indeed part of the view from my dining room window, with Misha on the window ledge. If you would like to send me an email address, I will send you some really spectacular photographs that I have taken of the island and views from my house. You can email me at patricia.truby@btinternet.com

    1. Dear Nan,
I could use it more if I could take the sun! Very fair-skinned so I must be careful. The cruel irony of life!
Of course, I knew you would like the song!
